Wow! I didn't even realize until last night that it was the season's last Monday night game! Lucky for us, it was a very exciting game.
After the Bears dominated the first half, Brett Farve, lately of the Vikings, engineered a comeback that resulted in a 23-23 tie with four minutes left in the game, and the Bears responded right away with a touchdown in two plays for the lead. However, the Bears left too much time on the clock and Brett once again drove down the field while the clock ran down and tied the game, sending it into overtime.
It was looking good for the Bears, who won the coin toss and sent the ball deep into Vikings territory. The win seemed inevitable when the Bears lined up for the game winning field goal, but Robbie Gould sliced it right. The Bears defense held another Viking's possession, then their offense punted after a quick three and out. On the Viking's ensuing drive, Adrian Peterson fumbled (or more accurately, Bears LB Hunter Hillenmeyer straight punched the ball from his arms), giving the Bears excellent field position at the Vikes' 38. The very next play found Jay Cutler passing to Aromashodu for the touchdown and the win. Wow!
The Vikings were heavy favorites, but with a Bears win, Fritzi wins a $25 gift certificate off any Doggie Oasis service. Nice pick, Fritzi!
This week's Woofball winner was Finnegan!
(Finn likes balls of all kinds)
