There were a lot of other firsts in this game. Last night was the first time an onside kick was attempted in any quarter other than the fourth, with the Saints regaining possession to start the 2nd half with a successful short kick. Last night also marked the first time Google aired a television ad. And of course, last night was the first Superbowl championship in New Orleans Saints history. It's been a tough few years for the city of New Orleans, so I'm happy they got this win.
Many of the victims of Hurricane Katrina included pets and other animals. Here is a link to Louisiana's Humane Society, who has worked tirelessly on behalf of the animals in New Orleans. On it you'll notice a scoreboard. The New Orleans Humane Society and the Indianapolis Humane Society challenged each other to see who could raise the most amount of money in honor of the championship game. =)
Our own charity drive this football season included eight local rescues. Here they are again:
And this year's winner for the Superbowl game was Friday! He and his mom picked the Saints to win despite being the underdogs, so Friday has won a $25 gift certificate off any Doggie Oasis service.
Friday very pleased with his victory.
Peyton Manning getting comforted after his loss.
We want to thank the rescues and our clients for participating. We hope it was fun!
