The Drooly Brothers

Tonka and Raja show off their stuff!

Week 5 Woofball Winners

Last night's game was the best Monday Night Football of the year! That fourth quarter was AMAZING! How do you like Miami's Wildcat offense? Guess the Jets should have figured out a Wilddog defense to stop them, huh?

As the underdogs, Miami's win gives Jobe the win for this week.  She will receive $25 off any Doggie Oasis service. Congratulations, Jobe, and thank you everyone who donated to Adopt a Rescue Pet!

This week's Woofball winner was Monty.  He played Woofball with a happy enthusiasm that won us over.  Get got his football yesterday; we hope you enjoy it, sweetie!

Week 6's game is Denver at San Diego.  Early numbers say that the Chargers are 4-6 point favorites over Denver.  It'll be hard to top this week's game, but I'm sure they'll give it their best shot!

Our rescue group this week is Hot Diggity Dachshunds

We are both a club and a rescue.  We provide support to our members and offer great social opportunities with our beloved dachshunds. As a Club we have Play Days and other monthly events.  We also host a few large events a year such as our Annual Hallo-Wiener Club Picnic!  More details about these large events are found under the “Major Events” tab. We also host fundraisers for other local non-profit rescues such as our Santa Paws collection drive in December.
As a Rescue we strive to help the unwanted and unfortunate dachshunds out there. We understand and know that we can not save them all but we can help the ones that we can, “Saving the world one Wiener at a time.”  We work from the love in our hearts for the breed and are always in need of foster homes and volunteers. For more information on how you can help our rescue, please visit our “Rescue” tab.
The LVHDDCR runs solely on volunteer basis. Our organizers and volunteers are not paid. We always need help covering events, play days and major events.  We always appreciate any and all help our members provide. If you have any resources that would help benefit our club and you would like to volunteer, please contact us.  If your business would like to help sponsor an event or you know of one, please contact us.

Queen Triscuit

Queen Triscuit sitting on her throne with her loyal subject, Monty, at her feet.  All hail Queen Triscuit!

Tonk*

This is Tonks (Rottie) meeting Tonka (Newfie) for the first time.  They loved each other!

 Awwwwww.

 "You coming?"

Look at the expression on Tonks' face! It's like she's saying, "I HAD NO IDEA NEWFIES COULD BE SO FUN!"

Emmitt tries to get into the action.  Tonks is a little jealous.

It doesn't take very long for Emmitt to wiggle his way into the group though.

Maximillion

Maximillion is pretty shy, so at the end of the day when most of the other dogs have gone home, we put the wall up and let him play with just a few calmer dogs. He's so cute when he runs!

Bonus: Romeo doing his butt-scratch dance. =)

Introducing...THE AMAZING FLYING BING!

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Bing the Superdog!

We've found Bing's hidden talent, which is to jump really, really, high. I think Audrey learned that the hard way. :) We think that Bing would be a great Dock Dog with these moves!

Sadie Snuggles...

...With Bowzer the Puggle!  And we thought that Ethie was the only one she allowed to sleep on her.

Week Four Woofball Winners!

Belen won this week's Woofball game!  She was consistently winning honorable mentions the previous week but this week she really dug her heels in and fought for the ball.  Congrats, Belen!  We hope you enjoy your new football!

This week's drawing winner was Smoke!  The Packers kept it pretty close the first half, but the Vikings ran away with it in the second half.  Smoke will receive a $10 gift certificate for any Doggie Oasis service.  Congrats, Smoke!

We also want to send out a special thanks to Lou, Bogey's dad, for his generous donation last week.  You can't know what a great mood we've all been in because of you!

So far, the favorite has won every single week.  This may be the week that bucks the trend.  The NY Jets are only one point favorites over the Miami Dolphins, and they're playing in Miami.  This could be your chance to win the $25 gift certificate!  Make any donation to our rescue group this week, the Southern Nevada Australian Shepherd and Border Collie Rescue, and pick your team.

Good luck, everyone!

The scene today at Doggie Oasis Day Care 10/5/09

Yeah, that moon is still pretty full.

Keoni and Jagger

Keoni and Jagger love to play with each other -- the thing is, the way they play mostly involves barking at or near each other. They do this every day they are here together. Not all playing has to involve wrestling!

It's that time of year again....

October is the month we take holiday pictures for our annual holiday card!

Every October we bring out the camera, dust off our Santa Hats and Dreidels, and start taking our Holiday pictures! Every day during October we have a blast taking these pictures of our dogs for the holidays. Get a groom or a bath first so they can really look their best. All you have to do for your dog to get a holiday picture is bring them in sometime in October for day care or boarding. We will do the rest!

Woofball Week 3 Results are in!

This week's Woofball competition winner was Tank! Even though there were some faster dogs vying for the ball this week, Tank's linebacker and fumble recovery skills won the day.

This week's drawing winner was Bogey! Bogey's dad chose the Dallas Cowboys to win, and they defeated the Panthers soundly. Bogey will receive $10 off any Doggie Oasis service. Thank you to everyone who donated to the LV Basset Rescue!

Congratulations, Tank and Bogey! You will receive your prizes when you get picked up.

Monday's game is Green Bay at Minnesota. That's right, Brett "I'm retired" Favre is headed back to Green Bay with his new team. The line opened with Minnesota a 3.5 point favorite, and has since moved down to 3. And since the game is in Minnesota, it's nearly a draw on neutral turf. Make a donation to this week's rescue group and make your pick!

This week's rescue group is Animal Adoptions Ltd.:

ABOUT US

Betty Honn founded Southern Nevada's first no-kill, non-profit animal sanctuary in 1968. Since then, volunteers, contributors and patrons have made our daily operations possible.

How cute is Tucker, here?! I just want to eat him up.
