New Years Eve

The year 2009 is very nearly over!  It's been a big year here at Doggie Oasis.  We've met a lot of great new dogs, adored the ones we knew, and were sad when a few moved or passed away.  That is life in the doggie business.  We appreciate so much your trust in caring for your canine kids.  We fall in love with each and every one of them in some way or another. Thank you!

To howl in the new year, Yasmine and Lindsay are hosting the NYE party.  Nearly every one is here already, and we're hoping they won't tire themselves out too much before midnight!  What movies should we watch tonight?  Maybe Hotel for Dogs101 Dalmations?  Ooh, how about Lady and the Tramp? Suggestions are welcome!

Woofball Week 16 results

Wow! I didn't even realize until last night that it was the season's last Monday night game!  Lucky for us, it was a very exciting game.

After the Bears dominated the first half, Brett Farve, lately of the Vikings, engineered a comeback that resulted in a 23-23 tie with four minutes left in the game, and the Bears responded right away with a touchdown in two plays for the lead.  However, the Bears left too much time on the clock and Brett once again drove down the field while the clock ran down and tied the game, sending it into overtime.

It was looking good for the Bears, who won the coin toss and sent the ball deep into Vikings territory.  The win seemed inevitable when the Bears lined up for the game winning field goal, but Robbie Gould sliced it right.  The Bears defense held another Viking's possession, then their offense punted after a quick three and out.  On the Viking's ensuing drive, Adrian Peterson fumbled (or more accurately, Bears LB Hunter Hillenmeyer straight punched the ball from his arms), giving the Bears excellent field position at the Vikes' 38.  The very next play found Jay Cutler passing to Aromashodu for the touchdown and the win. Wow!

The Vikings were heavy favorites, but with a Bears win, Fritzi wins a $25 gift certificate off any Doggie Oasis service.  Nice pick, Fritzi!

This week's Woofball winner was Finnegan!

(Finn likes balls of all kinds)

Thank you everyone for participating so far in our little Woofball games!  Stay tuned for the total tallies, and we'll see who gets into the playoffs!

Two down, one to go!

New Years caps off the holiday season. Whew, it's gone by fast!  We've got one more party, though, and that's New Years Eve.  Lindsay and Yasmine are playing hosts this year.  For $45, your dog can join the party.  There will be dog movies, games, party hats, and the dogs get to sleep slumber-party style (not in crates).  We've extended the pick up time to noon the next day, so you can sleep in after your own festivities.  Call now and make a reservation!
