Woofball Week 15 Results

Wow, last night's game was ugly!  The Giants crushed the Redskins; Manning was 19 of 26 passing for 268 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions while the Redskin's QB Jason Campbell threw one interception and was sacked five times.

It got even uglier at the beginning of the fourth quarter when a fight broke out between the teams.  And Washington, what was up with that goofy trick play on fourth down?  They lined up for a field goal kick, then shifted to a left-heavy passing formation.  The Giants noticed and quickly called a time out, but when they came back from break they did the exact same thing. It worked earlier this year in a game against Denver but it kind of takes the element of surprise out of the play when you do it again.

Anyway, the Giants MORE than covered their point spread, and this week's drawing winner is Belen!  She will receive a $10 gift certificate off any Doggie Oasis service.

This week's Woofball winner is Rudy!

Congrats you two!

Next Monday's game is going to be the Vikings at Chicago.  I've been to this game in Chicago, and let me tell you, it's a great time!  The Vikes are 7 point favorites, but Chicago plays tough at home in December.  Get your picks in today!

Our rescue this week is Foreclosed Upon Pets Inc:

Foreclosed Upon Pets, Inc. (FUPI) is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue of domesticated animals that have been abused and/or abandoned by their owners as a result of economic hardship, including home foreclosure, loss of employment, insufficient income, or death and illness. FUPI will work to further the cause of animal control through the education of the general public about the humane benefits of spay and neuter programs. FUPI will take on a leadership role in developing strategies and creating coalitions with other animal rescue organizations in order to better serve the residential and commercial sectors of the community in the fight against animal cruelty.

Foreclosures affect pets too!

Webster’s definition of foreclosure:  To shut out.
FUPI will make its services known to individual owners of pets who are suffering from the following:
  1. Economic hardship due to loss of job/home
  2. Insufficient income
  3. Temporary housing for hospitalized pet owners
  4. Temporary housing of military pets
  5. Death of a pet owner
Some pets come from loving families that have no choice but to relinquish their animals to animal control authorities due to home foreclosure.
Some rescued pets come from owners who have passed away or due to severe illness can no longer care for their pet.
Other animal’s come from less responsible pet owners who have neglected, abused and/or abandoned their pets. Upon rescue, many of these animals are in need of medical attention, appropriate food, and socialization with people and other animals.
FUPI’s approach to animal rescue will be a proactive alternative to animal cruelty and abandonment.
