Week 9 Woofball results are in!

The Steelers handed the Broncos a rare home loss, but I think even the most hardcore Broncos fans would have to admit that the Broncos did it to themselves.  After a promising start, the Broncos fell apart, and the Steelers handily took it away in the 4th quarter.

The Steelers were the favorites this week, so we're picking our raffle ticket from the Steelers bucket.  And the winner is...Smoke!  Congratulations, Smoke, you will get $10 off any Doggie Oasis service.  And by the way your dad underlined STEELERS on his raffle ticket, I'm guessing he's glad about the Pittsburgh win, too. :)

Our Woofball winner this week was Savannah!

As you can see, she's a natural with a football.

Congratulations, Smoke and Savannah, and again, thank you to everyone who donated!

The next MNF game will be the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Cleveland Browns.  The Ravens are 11 point favorites, which makes them a pretty easy pick. =)

Or rescue this week is Las Vegas Basset Rescue

Las Vegas Basset Rescue has been helping homeless Bassets since 1999. Basset Hounds are dropped at shelters, abandoned on the streets, and given up by their owners for various reasons. They are young, old and in-between. Some are healthy and well-socialized, just needing the basics of veterinary care. Others have been medically neglected and emotionally or physically abused. Many need all manner of veterinary care to get them into tip-top shape. They ALL need a fresh start in life with a caring family.

It is our mission to heal them and make them ready for permanent, loving homes. We have taken over 500 Bassets into rescue since we began in 1999. We strive to help each and every basset that needs a "new leash on life". The dogs are cared for in loving foster homes while they await permanent adoption. Dedicated foster families assess the dogs' personalities and needs so that they can be placed in the appropriate homes.

We are a small group of volunteers who have jobs, families, and other important commitments. No one receives a salary--all donations and funds raised go directly to pay the dogs' medical bills. We do Basset Rescue because we wish to make a difference in the lives of the breed we love.

By the way, the picture of that Basset Hound is Harley Davidson, and he is up for adoption!  Click through to their site for more details.

Good luck everyone!
